On the 4th July 2020, we intend to welcome visitors back to our Sussex vineyard, where you can enjoy the stunning countryside setting, abundance of wildlife as well as our Eighteen Acre Café and Vineyard Shop.
We've put measures in place to ensure that Bolney will be safe and enjoyable for both you and our staff, and you can read more about these here.
“Everything in our beautiful estate is ‘Guided by Nature’ and over the past 10 weeks in ‘lock-down’ I have witnessed so much of this. I am excited that we can now hopefully share, and celebrate, the vines growing this summer and let visitors experience the peace and beauty of our vineyard and potentially see the buzzards circling in the blue sky above.” Explains Sam Linter, our MD and Head Winemaker.
We are planning on opening our Eighteen Acre Café, with a focus on our alfresco Vineyard Balcony dining but there will also be tables available inside, spread out to meet the new government guidelines (initially a minimum of 1 metre) and positioned so that each table is not facing another.
Whilst you’ve been away, we’ve given parts of our estate a refresh so when you return you may notice some things look a little different. We wanted to ensure that all our spaces encompass our guided by nature ethos, so we have cladded the outside of the building and created lighter, brighter areas in our main entrance and café, with stunning views of our vineyard. We’ve also moved our shop into a bigger space and changed the layout to create more space for all our exciting new products. Finally, we’ve listened to feedback from our customers and updated our driveway and car park, so we’re ready to welcome everyone back to the same Bolney our customers love, but with a few new exciting additions and improvements.
And if you didn’t have a chance to visit us to see our kitchen refurbishment before, we’d love to welcome you back to see our chefs at work through our new serving hatch and to try our tasty tapas menu.
There will also be new picnic areas around the vines. Visitors will be able to pick up their pre-ordered fresh picnic box to enjoy with friends or family, surrounded by nature, at one of our new, socially distanced, picnic areas.
Our Vineyard Shop is open and offers a great selection of local sweet and savoury food products; the majority of the brands will be from local, artisan, quality and sustainable food and drink suppliers. We will, of course, also be selling our award-winning wine and spirits range.
Finally, we will be reopening our popular vineyard and wine tours. These tours are designed to bring Bolney Wine Estate to life and the expertly guided tasting afterwards, allows guests to immerse themselves in our award-winning wines. To minimize any risk, and to adhere to Government advice and guidelines, we will be significantly reducing the number of people on each tour.
