A MESSAGE FROM THE ESTATE

Our Philosophy

Here at Bolney Wine Estate we work hard to produce award-winning premium red, white, rosé and sparkling English wines. Our dedicated team work throughout the year to ensure our vines are perfectly tended in order to yield the highest quality grapes. We love sharing our story with you. Find out more about Bolney, our processes and our history below.

1972

Our story began in 1972 when owners and founders Janet and Rodney Pratt purchased the land and began their vineyard journey.

1985

We won our first ever award – a coveted Silver medal in the International Wine and Spirit Competition – for our ‘Bolne 1983’ white wine.

1995

Sam Linter, Rodney and Janet’s daughter joined the business full time taking over the reins and started a growth and quality improvement plan from which we can now see the results.

2005

We built our first proper winery, which was officially opened by the then Secretary of State for DEFRA, the Rt Hon. Margaret Beckett MP.

2016

We opened our doors to our visitors centre with a new café, shop and stunning viewing balcony

THE PROCESS

Winemaking

Sam Linter, daughter of the founders, Janet and Rodney, heads up the winemaking team. She is joined by Productions and Operations Manager, Cara Lee Dely and Assistant Winemaker, Tom Sutton. Their unique winemaking style sets Bolney apart from the competition, with our fruit driven and linear style wines.
