Festive Decorations, Events & Wine Offers
Celebrate the season at Bolney Wine Estate in West Sussex. From late November to mid-December, join us for festive wine tastings, our Christmas Fair, wreath-making workshops and Friday nights of live music and good food.
Between events, the estate is open every day through the winter. Enjoy lunch in our restaurant, pick up Christmas wines and gifts in the Vineyard Shop, or wrap up warm for a crisp walk past the sleeping vines. Places for our Christmas events are limited, so we recommend booking early.
Bolney's Christmas Decorations
Date: Friday, 6 November 2026
We put up our Christmas decorations in early November, marking the start of the festive season at Bolney. Garlands, lights and trees fill the visitor centre, shop and restaurant, so any visit from then on comes with a festive welcome. Pop in for lunch, a coffee or some early Christmas shopping – no booking required!
Christmas Fair

Start your Christmas shopping at the vineyard. Taste across the Bolney range, meet local artisan food producers and find gifts for everyone on your list, all in one festive afternoon.
Twelve Wines of Christmas Tasting
Dates: Fridays and Saturdays from mid-November 2026
Time: Fridays 5.30pm, Saturdays 11am
Find your wines for the festive table. After a welcome drink, our team guides you through twelve Bolney wines chosen for Christmas, from celebration sparkling to fresh whites, a warming Pinot Noir and our vermouths. The tasting lasts 90 minutes.

Festive Wreath Making Workshops
Dates: 24 and 26 November, 2 and 4 December 2026
Time: 6:30pm to 8:30pm
Make your own luxury Christmas wreath, guided step by step by an expert florist. You’ll work with fresh, locally sourced foliage and seasonal decorations, with a glass of Bolney wine in hand. No experience needed!
Festive Fridays
Dates: Fridays 4, 11 and 18 December 2026
Time: 6:30pm to 10:00pm
Begin the weekend with live music, festive food and Bolney wine in our restaurant. Your ticket includes a welcome drink, with delicious small plates and sharing boards to order throughout the evening.
Christmas Wines From Our Vineyard
Our wines are made in our own winery here in Sussex, from celebration sparkling to fresh Bacchus and Pinot Noir. Take the festive line-up home with the Bolney’s various Christmas wine cases. You might like to try the Twelve Wines of Christmas Case or our new mulled wine bundle, with Lychgate Red, Vermouth Rosso and a recipe card.
Christmas Dining at Bolney Restaurant
Warm up with seasonal food and Bolney wine. Bolney Restaurant is open Wednesday to Sunday from 9am to 5pm, with late opening on Fridays until 10pm and a Sunday roast every week. For something more relaxed, our Café & Wine Bar is open daily.

See a working Sussex vineyard in its quietest season. Our guided tours explain how English wine is made, from vine to bottle, and finish with a tasting of our wines.

A Winter Walk Through Sussex Wine Country
Winter is one of the calmest times to visit a vineyard. After harvest, the vines lose their leaves and rest until spring, and on dry days you may spot our team pruning to decide how much fruit each vine will carry next year. Bolney has grown vines here since 1972, when Janet and Rodney Pratt founded the vineyard, making it one of England’s first commercial vineyards.
Festive Wines Made in Sussex
English sparkling wine is a natural choice for Christmas, making up 69% of English and Welsh wine production (The Drinks Business, 2026). Ours is made in the traditional method, the same way as Champagne, with a second fermentation in the bottle for fine, lasting bubbles. Try a formal tasting to find your favourite before the big day.

Bolney is close to the main routes from London, Brighton and Gatwick.
