Making History With Our English Pinot Noir
In the 1990s, most people in the industry thought it was impossible to make a quality English Pinot Noir. Sam Linter, our Head Winemaker, believed them wrong. She crafted a Pinot Noir on our Sussex estate that has since gone on to win national and international awards and become a favourite with customers.
Bolney Wine Estate has helped to put British red wine on the global map.

Still English Red Wines
Lychgate Red
Our Lychgate Red derives from the Rondo grape variety, making for a medium-bodied dry English red with earthy aromas. Similar in style to a Cabernet Franc, it matches beautifully with steak, casseroles, and game. This a hugely popular English red, winner of Wine GB Awards 2021 Bronze.
Winemakerâs Edition
This well-balanced, medium-bodied red wine is ideal for ageing, with a smoky aroma and earthy notes of blackberry and dark chocolate. Itâs the perfect pairing for meat dishes.
Pinot Noir
Our Pinot Noir is one of our finest still wines, elegant and medium-bodied with a silky texture. It has good ageing potential, too, developing into complex fruit flavours. Match with roasted guineafowl, butternut squash dauphinoise, or creamy goatâs cheese for true indulgence.

Cuvée Noir
This unique sparkling wine is made with the Dornfelder grape variety, giving sweet red fruit aromas. A creamy richness and full-bodied mousse mean that this wine is great with BBQ meats, cheese, and gamey dishes. Our CuvĂ©e Noir holds the International Wine Challenge 2018 Bronze.
