Tour FAQs

How do I book onto a tour?

Bookings can be made online here, either by redeeming a voucher or by booking directly onto a tour.

We do sell vouchers through different third parties and we will ask who the supplier is before you enter any of your voucher details. If you’re unsure of the provider, please refer to your voucher which should say the name of the supplier.

For voucher bookings there is a step-by-step process of entering your voucher details and personal details in order for us to know when the voucher has been used. To redeem a tour voucher please click here.

If you know which date you would like to attend but don’t have a voucher, you can book directly on to a tour without having to purchase a voucher.

Can we bring children on the tours?

Unfortunately, we run a strictly 18+ policy on all other tours. This also includes babies.

Are dogs allowed on the tours?

For the safety and comfort of other customers we do not allow dogs on our tours.

What should I do on the day of my tour?

Please arrive 5-10 minutes before your tour is due to start. You do not need to bring your voucher or booking confirmation with you, just simply come to the Estate and sign in with a member of staff on arrival.

Can you cater for my dietary requirements?

We try to cater for as many dietary requirements as we can, please do let us know in advance if you have any specific dietary requirements. Vegetarian, and vegan are not a problem, however, gluten-free, yeast-free, and dairy-free are not always possible (especially on our Luxury Cream tea Tour). Please contact us to discuss any additional requirements you may have.

Will my tour still happen if its raining?

We run our tours come rain or shine. If the weather is wet, we will just make sure you are not kept outside for too long. We do have a few umbrellas available but suggest that you come well prepared. We may adjust our tour routes in poor weather conditions for your safety.

If the vineyard tour is cancelled due to extreme adverse weather conditions, an alternative date will be offered to you.

Please wear sturdy footwear for the walk around the vineyard and suitable outerwear for the weather.

How much wine will we consume on the tour?

On the Cheese & Wine Tasting Tour (previously called Taster Tour) you consume approximately a ¼ bottle of wine.

On The Ultimate Wine & Food Tasting Tour (previously called Grand Gourmet Tour) you consume approximately a ½ bottle of wine.

*These measurements are approximate as we do free pour.

How much walking is required on the tours?

Total walking time will be around 10-15minutes with additional time spent standing outside for talks. If the weather is nice your tour guide may hold a little more of the talk outside. Please wear sturdy footwear for the walk around the vineyard and suitable outerwear for the weather.

Need to make a change or cancel your booking?

If you for any reason need to change the date of your tour, then you can contact us free of charge on tours@bolneywineestate.com to move it and you will receive a new confirmation letter. However, if it is within seven days of the tour then we do charge a £10 administration fee per person as we will be unable to refill the space and food ordering and staffing will already be in place.

Are the Tours covid safe?

Yes, all our tours comply with the current government guidelines for covid-19. We have a maximum number of 20 people per tour which allows us to keep a safe distance between each group. Our tour guides and staff also wear face coverings when serving.

We’ve put a variety of measures in place to ensure we are adhering to government guidelines, as well as to make your time here a safe and enjoyable experience. See full details here.

Can I leave my car overnight?

We do not advise drinking and driving (for those who are driving we do provide spittoons). If, however, you wish to leave your car here over night that’s not a problem, the estate is locked by 6pm every night and the gates will be reopened at 8.30am the next morning – please inform your tour guide if you plan to leave your car.

Do you have a lift available?

We have a lift up to our shop, café and tour areas. Our vineyard tours take place on a variety of terrains and uneven grounds, however there are no steps involved, other than to enter and exit the building where there is a lift.

Can I buy a voucher for your tours?

Yes, we sell vouchers for all of our tours. You can either purchase an eVoucher that will be emailed to you straight away, or a physical voucher which we send to you first class. Please bear in mind, if this is for a gift then we are only as reliable as the Royal Mail postal service, but we will do our best to get your voucher to you on time.

Vouchers are valid for 12 months and the tour must be attended by the expiry date on the voucher.

If you would like to extend your voucher then we offer an extension plan; 3 months is £10, 6 months is £15 and 1 year is £20. This is to cover administration costs.
