Lambing 

Spring is all systems go in the farms as the ewes prepare to give birth. Lambing season is March to May, and there are many spots in Sussex, including Coombes Farm, where you can see the ewes and their newborns frolicking around the barns as they find their long furry legs! This experience is guaranteed to bring a smile to your face.  

Bodiam Castle  

Bodiam Castle is a 14th-century castle in East Sussex, brimming with history and wonder. In spring, the gentle sunlight hits the castle to bring out the colours of the stonework – so many picturesque views to marvel at, including stunning views of Rother Valley from the top of the spiral staircase. The castle is also surrounded by nature, including ducks, fish and wild bats. The maternity roost of the bats is kept safe and secure, but you might hear them chattering away from time to time as you explore! 

Bluebells  

There is nothing more beautiful on a sunny spring day than discovering a vibrant carpet of bluebells. Peak flowering season is between late April and late May. Why not head over to our friends at Sussex Wildlife Trust to discover the best bluebell walks? Bluebells can be seen at the following Sussex Wildlife Trust nature reserves:

• Flatropers Wood near Peasmarsh 

• Marline Valley near Hastings 
• Selwyns Wood near Heathfield 
• The Mens near Petworth 
• Woods Mill near Henfield 

Carpet of Flowers at Arundel Cathedral  

Escape to the stunning town of Arundel this June to witness the magnificent festival of flowers at Arundel Cathedral. The Carpet of Flowers and Procession is to celebrate the feast of Corpus Christi, which Arundel Cathedral have celebrated for over 140 years.
