An excellent example of a cool climate Pinot Noir, well balanced, it has soft tannins and juicy strawberry and red cherry on the palate. Leather, spice and chocolate complement fresh plums and a smooth and creamy finish.
100% Pinot Noir
Made with fruit selected from our Foxhole and Pookchurch vineyards, the Pinot Noir grapes were hand-picked, crushed and fermented on skins for around 7-days at 25- 28°C. Fermentation was in small 600L bins, allowing punch downs by hand. After pressing, the wine underwent malolactic fermentation, partially in barrel.
this pinot noir is simply fabulous, first experienced it 3 years ago in a restaurant, what a delight, I've been hooked ever since, the lovely light fruity flavours come first, then the deeper creamy flavours kick in ! this is such a nice wine, it is as good with meat, as it is with cheese or even on its own, delicious i would highly recommend
Light and refreshing summer red with juicy red fruit. Drank it in the garden with friends in Sussex. Seemed appropriate! Will certainly buy again.
Unaccustomed to English red wine, I tasted this on a tour and subsequently one of the bottles I purchased for dinner. It’s a very high quality pinot noir, certainly able to rival Burgundian village wines and approaching some of the cru’s. Not yet a wine for ageing (therefore lovely to drink now), but if the vigneron and winemaker keep up this quality, their still reds could become a staple favourite. Delicious.
