Sussex Goats Cheese
£8.50A mild goats cheese that has a complex, yet subtle flavour with hints lemon. Light and creamy in texture, Golden Cross is a log shaped goat’s milk cheese which can be eaten straight away or is also perfect for aging allowing it to develop more intense flavours. Lightly charcoaled prior to maturation to help develop a velvety white penicillium mould on the surface.

When young the cheese has a fine, firm silky texture and fresh, citrus flavour.
As it matures the cheese becomes denser and creamier and develops stronger, more complex flavours.

Golden Cross Cheese Company is a family owned business run by Kevin & Alison Blunt at Greenacres Farm, Holmes Hill, East Sussex. Together with Matthew, one of their three sons, and 3 part-time staff they have produced soft mould ripened goats and sheep milk cheeses since 1989.
