In January 2019 Bolney Wine Estate merged with with neighbouring vineyard Pookchurch to form a 104 acre estate dedicated to increasing the production of premium still English wines.
Pookchurch’s planting range included stills ( Pinot Gris, Bacchus, and Pinot Noir) as well as sparkling varieties, which was an ideal match for Bolney’s outstanding still wines. The scale of the site is substantial at 27 Ha of planted vines. The soil is sandstone bedrock with silt and clay to varying depths across the site. The vineyard slopes gently south and south east, with the highest point less than 100 metres above sea level and the lowest 60m, giving the land a valuable aspect and exposure to sunlight and soil warming.Learn More
