We are proud to be working with amazing local Sussex suppliers including local Brighton brand, The Flour Pot Bakery. As well as having a number of successful bakery/coffee shop spots around the Brighton and Hove area, The Flour Pot Bakery also have a range of artisan products which our customers love.
How did you start The Flour Pot? And why?
Along with bringing the community bakery back, Oli Hyde of The Flour Pot's founding mission was to bring real bread and pastry made with soul, skill and care by artisans to customers, with the best customer service every day of the week. From there, The Flour Pot’s bakers and chefs have continued to develop a wide range of delicious products handcrafted from the best quality, natural ingredients for our customers to enjoy with a great cup of freshly brewed coffee.
What’s your favourite thing about what you do?
I work hard doing something I love with people I respect. Brighton is a microcosm. It has every key food customer demographic - city, families, tourists, students and retirees. The Flour Pot appeals to each of these hugely important groups by focusing on fresh handcrafted produce and excellent seven days a week service.
Why do you like working with Bolney?
Bolney is one of the oldest and most beautiful of English vineyards, set in a stunning location. It is a family run business like ours with an excellent reputation for a quality product. Their mission, in their own words " is to produce delicious artisanally made quality wines." which fits in perfectly with our ethos at The Flour Pot. Both of our core products are made from simple and basic ingredients yet such skill and care goes into producing both Bolney wine and our sourdough.
Can you give us a quote on why you enjoy supporting local Sussex Businesses?
Great food and hospitality are a part of the experience of living in and visiting Sussex so businesses like ours can thrive here. We want to collaborate and support as many like minded businesses so the food and drink scene can continue to thrive. It is important more now than ever to lend support to each other, in these times of complete uncertainty and look to a bright future.
